i need to present a seminar topic on the topic plastic as soil stabiliser...pls send me the abstract or ppt to my mail id mageswarikarthik92[at]gmail.com..send as soon as possible..thanks in advance..
Soil stabilization is any process that improves soil physical properties, such as increased shear strength, loadability, etc., which can be done by controlled compaction or addition of suitable additives such as cement, lime and materials Such as fly ash, phosphogyps, etc. . The cost of introducing these additives has also increased in recent years, which opened the door extensively for the development of other types of additives for the soil, such as plastics, bamboo, etc. This new technique of soil stabilization can be used Effectively to meet the challenges of society, to reduce the quantities of waste, producing useful material from non-useful waste materials. The use of plastic products such as polyethylene bags, bottles, etc., is increasing day by day, giving rise to various environmental concerns. Therefore, the disposal of plastic waste without causing any ecological hazard has become a real challenge. Therefore, the use of plastic bottles as soil stabilizer is an economic use since there is a shortage of good quality soil for embankments. The analysis was carried out by plate loading tests reinforced with layers of plastic bottles filled with sand and bottles cut in halves placed in intermediate and third positions of the tank. Comparison of the results of the tests showed that the cut bottles placed in the middle position were the most efficient to increase soil resistance. The optimal percentage of plastic strips in the soil was determined by the California Bearing Ratio Test and the use of this percentage of plastic plaque loading test was also performed. The size and content of plastic waste bottle strips have a significant effect on improving soil resistance.
