power house monitoring
power house monitoring.docx (Size: 15.32 KB / Downloads: 27)
power house monitoring is done on the receiver part fitted with lcd.Following parameters monitored are ,high voltage, over load, no-voltage or temperature high.,these paremeters are transmitted by transmitter .audio and visual alarm comes on both the places ,alarms have to be reset from both the places.receiver will also display the alarming condition.these conditions also logged on to pc through serial port.
The need for automated performance monitoring systems is increasing as the personnel
resources available for dam safety monitoring remains limited. A properly designed and
implemented automated monitoring system can save labor and improve the quality of the
data and the dam owner’s ability to detect a developing safety condition
This paper discusses the new power monitoring program, the role of the
instrumentation in monitoring long-term power performance, why automated
monitoring was used, and how the system was designed and implemented to reduce the
manpower required for monitoring. Discussions of how the monitoring results are used
to make decisions regarding the continued safe operations of the project are also provided.
WHY INCLUDE AUTOMATED MONITORING?
There were three primary objectives that were identified for the long-term dam safety
monitoring system:
1) To improve the ability to identify a change in seepage performance related to the
safety of the powerhouse,
2) To reduce the manpower required to collect, evaluate, and manage the power safety
data from the large number of instruments like turbines, alternators, transformers, feeders etc.
