A controller based on a microprocessor for a three-phase AC power converter operating on a variable frequency source is discussed. This scheme is developed using 8085 microprocessor with minimal hardware. The trigger angle of the power controller is kept constant regardless of the frequency of delivery. Any change in the trigger angle is implemented within one sixth of a cycle, making the system response faster.
