A repeating controller has been used in the control system of the DVR to compensate for key power quality problems, namely voltage drops, harmonic voltages and voltage imbalances. This control system contains a forward term to improve the transient response and a feedback term to allow zero error at steady state.
Energy quality is one of the main concerns in the current era. It has become important, especially, with the introduction of sophisticated devices whose operation is verysensitive to the quality of the power supply. The problem of energy quality is an occurrence that manifests as a voltage, current or anonymous frequency that results in a failure of the end-use equipment. One of the main problems addressed here is the collapse of power. Sensitive industrial loads and utility distribution networks suffer from various types of service interruptions and disruptions that can result in significant financial losses. To improve the quality of energy, custom energy devices are used. The device considered in this work is DVR. In this work, the PI controller and the PWM Node pulse generator are used for the purpose of control and can be implemented through DSP. Here, the failure conditions are considered different for both linear and induction loading. The role of DVR to compensate for load voltage is investigated during different failure conditions such as voltage sinking, single phase to ground, double phase ground faults. In addition, the application of DVR is investigated to compensate for the problem of immersion of the starting voltage for the induction motor.
