ABSTRACT
The Gist of the project is “Process Improvement”.
In which I introduce “Work Study” in the company.
“Time Study” and 5’S’ in the company.
Which all helps to improve the process, saves time, increase the profit of
Worker as well as of the company.
“5S”
A systematic and rational approach to workplace, organization and methodical housekeeping with a sense of purpose.
5S
ü SEIRI - Sorting.
ü SEITON - Systematic Arrangement.
ü SEISO - Cleaning.
ü SEIKETSU - Standardization.
ü SHITSUKE - Disciplined Behavior.
Work Study:
Work study is a general term associated with two techniques.
· Method study (motion study) and
· Work measurement.
Work study investigates the work done in an organization and it aims at finding the best and most efficient way of using available resources i.e., men, material, money, and machinery.
Time Study:
It is defined as a work measurement technique for recording the time and rates of working for the elements of a specified job carried out under specified conditions, and for analyzing the data so as to obtain the time necessary for carrying out the job at a defined level of performance.
Procedure to conduct time study:
Time study consists of the following steps:-
1. Selection the job to be measured, operator to be observed and approach to the operator.
2. Recording all information about the job, operator and surrounding conditions.
3. Breaking down the operation into elements.
4. Examining each element to ensure that the most effective methods and motion are used.
5. Measuring with the stop watch, the time taken by the operator to perform each element.
6. Assessing the effective speed of the operator performance factor.
7. Applying rating factor to be observed time to get basic time.
8. Determining the allowances to be made
9. Compiling standard time.
