Abstracts: Raw Salt is obtained from two sources: rock salt and brine. Rock salt is simply crystallized salt, also known as halite. It is the result of the evaporation of ancient oceans millions of years ago. Underground salt deposits are usually discovered by prospectors searching for water or oil. When salt is detected, a diamond-tipped, hollow drill is used to take several regularly spaced core samples throughout the area. These samples are analyzed to determine if salt mining would be profitable. The SALT PROCESSES APPLICATION system is used to expose the fundamental aspects of Salt control to external sources. SALT PROCESSES acts as the bridge between Salt itself and REST. The core functionality for raw Salt process lies in pluggable modules that adhere to the simple interface of binding to a port and starting a service. SALT PROCESSES can manage one or many services concurrently salt processes manages various modules which are modules that (usually) bind to a port and start a service. Raw Salt is written to be completely API centric, Salt minions and master can be built directly into third party applications as a communication layer. The Salt client API is very straightforward.
