The Government of Bombay enacted the Bombay Industrial Disputes Act of 1938, which entered into force with effect from 1/6/1939. Subsequently, the Bombay Industrialists Act of 1947 was included in the book of laws and was applied in 1947, replacing the Industrial Disputes Act of Bombay in 1938. Shri GLNanda, then Labor Minister of Bombay Province, Was the pioneer of this Law. The Law is based on three principles of Gandhi, namely, negotiations, conciliation and arbitration.
