Abstracts: Cracks in building are of common occurrence. A building component develops cracks whenever stress in the component exceeds its strength. Stresses in building component could be caused by externally applied forces, such as dead load ,live load, wind load, or seismic loads or foundation settlement or it could be induced internally due to thermal movements, moisture changes chemical action etc. Cracks reduce the life of the structure will reduce causing structural failure. They also weaken the building and reduce the elevation/beauty of wall. Water leakage indicates the water comes out from the roof, ceiling, wall, and Basement, etc.is in very less amount. Water is come out from the cracks and porous concrete. Water leakage is serious problem for industrial building and houses. Water seepage or leakage is reduces the load carrying capacity of the building. if the water is salty than the concrete or steel is suffering from corrosionwhere the water leakage problem poses a public health nuisance, a risk to the structural safety of the building or water wastage. Solution for water leakage by filling pores by crystallization, by acrylic modified waterproofing coating, polyurethane coating, epoxy coating, coal tar cold applied coating, water proofing screeds and instant water plugging compound. Waterproofing by using 3 to 4mm thick membrane sheets is a new concept adopted for large scale construction works.
