Train collision avoidance
ABSTRACT
The main aim of the project is to identify the cracks in rails. In order to find the cracks in rails we have chosen a technique using Zigbee communication. The low analog voltage is given to the rail track. Initially track is connected to the inbuilt ADC of the PIC16F877A microcontroller, the output of the microcontroller is connected to traffic light in order to control the light signals and to stop the train. Proximity sensors are used to detect whether 2 trains are arriving at the same track, sensors will give the signal to the microcontroller. Also the output of the microcontroller is connected to traffic light in order to control the light signals and to stop the train. Transmit and receive section is possible through Zigbee communication, thereby UART allows for serial transmission of Zigbee signals. The train location can be found by using GPS technique. Upon receiving a signal from transmitter side it is found that there is a crack in rails, so the receiver will get activated and the signal will be given to the Station through GSM. Thereby utilizing it we can easily find the crack and stop the train.

EXISTING SYSTEM
If the railway track has been cracked it may lead the train to huge disastrous.if the two train meet at the same railway track it may crash each other.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM
• can't able to predict the cracks on the railway track.
• can't able to manage when the two trains travel opposite to each other.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
Computer analysis of the received information,the own position and movement vector and an electronic track map detects possible collisions, displaying an alert signal, and advising the driver of the most convenient strategy to follow in order to avoid the danger.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM
• The collision avoidance system will ensure efficient safe freight,passenger,and roadway worker operation.
• Monitor switches for proper alignment.
• If needed,the train will be stopped prior to moving over the specific device.
