Designing and Development of Multi Biofuel Cooking Stove for Rural Women

Abstract

Rice husk are available abundantly in India. Most of the rice mills are using this husk as a fuel. The present study aims
at to model the gasification characteristics of rice husk using computational fluid dynamics. A three dimensional Eulerian granular
multiphases with porous jump are applied to model the flow. Eulerian conservation equations are solved for particle and gas
phase, velocities and specific enthalpies. The model takes into account the pyrolysis reaction to optimize the reactor performance.
The aim of the present work is mainly to predict the performance of the typical husk biomass gasifier through computer simulation
with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software i.e. ANSYS R -12. The computation is then extended to study the variation in
gas composition and calorific value of the producer gas while Increase the equivalence ratio from time to time. Further it is
noticeable that when the Hydrogen gases are allowed to mix with the producer gases the flame colour is getting changed that is
yellow to reddish. At the same time the temperature of the flame is getting increased to 1200 0C. In this novel method we can use
the maximum percentage of calorific value of rice husk with less emission, which impacts the decrease in air pollution.
