INTRODUCTION

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project titled Regional traffic organization system (RTOS) is an online system for automating some of the operations associated with RTO offices. These operations include issuing of Learners license, permanent license, license renewal, duplicate license and registration of new vehicle. In this system, different RTO’s can register and the public can register themselves and apply for their Learning License, Permanent License, Renewal License, Duplicate License, New vehicle Registration Etc. This online process saves the valuable time of people as it avoids a big amount of manual operations in connection with RTO processes. This system makes the RTO processes transparent and improves the credibility of RTO operations. And it also helps the police and public people to get information about doubtful vehicles and thus to avoid unfair incidents. The system will also display the status of various dealings with the public. The application is developed using ASP.Net and C#, to make it more powerful we have used SQL Server as the back end.
Regional traffic organization is a centralized system. Is allows the applicant to submit their applications at any RTO offices in Kerala. This system provides a way to avoid many of the paper works in connection with RTO operations. RTOS makes the application processing easier for RTO officers and thus simplifies their operations.

Administrator

Administrator is the central authority for the system. He can control and manage different RTO offices. The main functions of administrator are:
RTO registration
Update RTO details
Create questions
Update questions
Generate reports
Administrator can generate five types of reports. Administrator can generate separate reports about the transactions in connection with any RTO offices.

RTO

Another important user of this system is RTO. RTO is responsible for view and process different applications submitted by public. RTOS removes a big amount of manual operations in connection with the operations done by the RTO officers. And thus makes their work simpler and faster. Also RTO’s can send their feedback message to different applicants. The main functions of RTO’s are:
View applications
Process applications
Send feedback

Public

Most important user of this system is Public. If the applicant is a new user he/she has to register in to the system. Otherwise if he/she is an existing user he/she can login to the system by using their user name and password. Only the applicant with age above 16 can register into the system. This system allows the public to submit their applications in an online manner. The RTOS also allows the applicant to view the status of their applications.

Business Layer:-

This is the core of the system, the linking between the other layers. This is the layer which contains the basic logic and calculation. In the Business layer you'll find things like Classes, Objects, instance variables, methods, Polymorphism, Encapsulation and Inheritance. The objects mostly have a temporary nature. They "live" just in memory for the duration of a transaction or session.

Data Access Layer:-

This layer is also a class which we use to get or set the data to the database back and forth. This layer only interacts with the database. We write the database queries or use stored procedures to access the data from the database or to perform any operation to the database.

ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY

Economic analysis is the most important and frequently used method for evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed system. It is very essential because the main goal of the proposed system is to have economically better result along with the increased efficiency. Economic analysis is the most commonly used method for evaluating effectiveness of the system .Cost –benefit analysis is most important assessment of the economic justification of the project .Cost-benefit analysis delineates the cost for project development and weighs them against tangible and intangible benefits of a system, This type of analysis varies with the characteristics of the system to be developed, the relative size of the project, and the expected return on the investment desired as a part of company’s strategic plan .Benefits of a system are always determined relative to the existing mode of operation.
This system is economically feasible since it do not require any initial setup cost. It does not need additional staffing requirements. Economic feasibility deals about the economical impact faced by the organization to implement a new system. Not only cost of hardware, software etc is considered but also the form of reduced costs. The project, installed, certainly be beneficial since there will be a reduction

CONCLUSION

“Regional traffic organization system” is a centralized online system for automating some of the operations associated with RTO offices. It provides very fast and efficient operations. RTOS avoids a big amount of manual operations in connection with RTO offices. It also makes the request processing jobs very easier and faster and improves the efficiency of RTO processes.
The project developed is designed in such a way that any further enhancement can be done with ease. The system has the capability for easy integration with other systems. New modules can be added to the existing system with less effort.
