What is a mobile?
A Mobile phone is a portable radio cellular technology based device which connects to a service provider using air as medium.
They have a tranciever which converts the digital signals produced by the mobile phone into radio signals and transmit it into the air medium.
Nowadays they are manufactured not only with cellular functions but also coming with extra technical features to simplify the works of humans.
Nowadays we cant see anyone without mobile phones. This situation is only because of the evolution of technology.

Initially the mobile phone
concept was introduced by Motorola corporation.
Then after knowing its demand and importance, many companies like Sony, Nokia, Apple, Samsung, etc,. involved in electronics field had been also involved in developing mobile phone technology.
Android operating systems
Android is a open source smartphone operating system works on Linux kernels was founded in October 2003 by Andy Rubin and backed by Google, along with major hardware and software developers like HTC, ARM, SONY, Samsung, etc,.
Initially android was not that much popular till 2008.
Then after the arrival of version 2.3 GingerBread, android addressed the name of smartphones to the world. Eventually during the arrival of Galaxy range smartphones by Samsung.
The newer versions of android like Icecream Sandwich and Jelly Bean made android the most popular operating system.
Now android reached a market share of 76% in smartphones. This made Apple, Nokia smartphones to face heavy fall in market share.
The main reason for the popularity of Android phones is its awesome User Interface(UI) and unbelievable performance and multi tasking.
Future mobile phones
Nowadays mobile phone watches are coming with the features of Smartphones. Eg : Sony ancy
Then the new trend is Flexible mobile phones. They uses flexible LED displays called Organic LED (OLED). The leading companies like Samsung, Nokia and Sony are going to launch their flexible mobile phones by end of this year.
Samsung and Intel are now joined in a project for developing Tizen OS. Tizen os will become a big competitor for Android it seems.
Nokia is involved in the project of developing SailFish OS in which Nokia phones will run in future.
