Introduction :


The mobile devices are becoming more and more popular and powerful and are providing a new notion of communication that we could once only imagine. A truly wireless mobile is new to the vast majority of computer users. We know wireless mobile phones, but the idea of being able to connect to the Internet in a similar fashion is something with ramifications we've yet to fully realize. The vast majority of us are still accustomed to plugging a modem into a phone back to connect to the Internet remotely. The enhancements in the technologies help us to have the Internet accessing facilities even on the mobiles.
GPRS data transfer is typically charged per megabyte of traffic transferred, while data communication via traditional circuit switching is billed per minute of connection time, independent of whether the user actually is using the capacity or is in an idle state. GPRS is a best effort packet switched service, as opposed to circuit switcing, where a certain Quality of Service (QoS) is guaranteed during the connection for non-mobile users.


Existing System :

In the current scenario there is no mobile application by means of which a vehicle will be tracked by means of GPRS. Here in the proposed system we have developed an application by means of which by using it this feature is possible.

The two core features of this project are :


Mobile Side :

In Mobile side we read the value from the GPS. By using this facility we can understand where will be the Mobile or under which location. Thus we can track the mobile and thereby track the vehicle with the mobile.

Server side :

In server side we will receive and store the location of vehicle sent by the Mobile. This location will be used to track him from the system. For that we will use web service for getting map API to locate the Mobile and thereby the vehicle in which the mobile is placed.


Additional Feature :

Other than that we also have an additional feature implemented in the proposed system. By using the camera in the mobile phone we can use to take video of the path through which the vehicle is moving. The captured video file would be sent directly back to the server and by means of which the owner of the car can directly see the path the vehicle is taking.


Modules :

• Login and User Management :
A user is allowed to enter the system after authentication of that particular user. The users of the system have to provide user name and password .If a particular user is not in the login table, then he can’t access the system .For unregistered users there is an option for Sign In

Search & Locate :

This module manages the searching process. Here in this module we provide the option of searching the friends that are close to us. We gather the details of the friends who are near to us from the mobile tower.

Mark Locations :

We use this module to mark our location on the map. The map are downloaded from the server to the mobile for the marking of the location. We will store the details of the map in a database.

Desktop :

In order to view and edit the features o the map we need to download the map and run it on the mobile. The files will be downloaded as jar files. We do the operations here necessary to run the downloaded files on the mobile
