Solar Panel Based Wirelessly Controlled Car

Introduction


Solar energy is being used to produce electricity through sunlight. With the help of this technology we aim to make solar energy powered car in our project. The main component to build a solar car is the solar panel. The solar cells collect a portion of the sun’s energy and store it into the batteries of the solar car.

Solar Panel


A solar panel is a set of solar photovoltaic modules electrically connected and mounted on a supporting structure. A photovoltaic module is a packaged, connected assembly of solar cells. The solar module can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications.


Rechargeable Battery

A rechargeable battery, storage battery, or accumulator is a type of electrical battery. It comprises one or more electrochemical cells, and is a type of energy accumulator. Rechargeable batteries are used for automobile starters, portable consumer devices, light vehicles (such as motorized wheelchairs, golf carts, electric bicycles, and electric forklifts), tools, and uninterruptible power supplies. Emerging applications in hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles are driving the technology to reduce cost and weight and increase lifetime


RF COMMUNICATION


RF communication works on the principle of creating electromagnetic waves at a source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic waves at a particular destination .
The RF communication system then utilizes this phenomenon by wiggling electrons in a specific pattern to represent information. The receiver can make this same information available at a remote location; communicating with no wires.
Radio Frequency Module is an integral part with a control module or unit and an antenna it is used for wireless identification


L293D (MOTOR DRIVER)

L293D is a dual H-bridge motor driver integrated circuit (IC). Motor drivers act as current amplifiers since they take a low-current control signal and provide a higher-current signal. This higher current signal is used to drive the motors.
L293D contains two in built H-bridge driver circuits. In its common mode of operation, two DC motors can be driven simultaneously, both in forward and reverse direction.


DC MOTOR

In any electric motor, operation is based on simple electromagnetism. A current-carrying conductor generates a magnetic field; when this is then placed in an external magnetic field, it will experience a force proportional to the current in the conductor, and to the strength of the external motor. The internal configuration of a DC motor is designed to harness the magnetic interaction between a current-carrying conductor and an external magnetic field to generate rotational motion magnetic field


DISADVANTAGES

Solar cars don’t have speed or power that regular cars have.
Solar powered cars can operate only for limited distances if there is no sun.
If it is dark out for many days, the car battery will not charge and this is the main reason why people don’t rely on solar cars.
A good solar powered car is expensive. It will cost $200,000 or more.
Parts used in solar cars are not produced in large quantity so they are expensive


Future work and conclusion


Since the relay and other devices are working and giving the required output to rive the handmade car, it is quite expected that it is going to work when the fuel, it is quite necessary to alter our demand into the solar energy. It is cheap, efficient, not very far away that day when a great percentage of world’s people will use the discussed technology and turn their car into or get their own ‘Environment Friendly Solar Car
