Title : Fabrication and Fault Diagnosis of Gear box through Motor Current Analysis
Description :
The basic aim of the project is to find fault of the gear box.
For this the arrangement is made in order to predict the gear ratio of the
gearbox and to get the motor current signature of the input motor. The
motor is made to run in various RPM which is controlled by the Variable
Frequency Drive. Mechanical load is given to the gearbox. The motor is
run on three different speeds at 500,1000 and 2000 RPM respectively
and the speed of the driven shaft is measured using a Tachometer. 4 such
readings were taken for all the 4 different gears and the results are
tabulated for different gear ratios. Motor current vs input speed are plotted
from the results and analyzed. In the next phase the unknown gear is
incorporated in the gear box and the same procedure is repeat and the values of the two gears are compared and is checked whether the gear is defective or not.
Extracurricular Activities
• Co-ordinate and Participated in Charitable and Fund raising activities.
• Taken initiative and supported Blood donation camp held at our college.
• Participated in cultural activities in school level and college level.
• Participated in workshop held at IIT, CHENNAI.
