WAP is an application environment and set of protocols for wireless devices which enables them to access the internet.
Founders- Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and Unwired Phone in 1997.

Open, global and non-proprietary
Device and bearer independent
Built by consensus by members of the WAP Forum
EVOLUTION
To combine mobile and access to internet.
