REAL TIME CAR THEFT DECLINE SYSTEM USING ARM PROCESSOR

Abstract:

Due to the insecure environment the ratio of
vehicle theft increases rapidly. Because of this is
manufacturers of luxury automobiles has the
responsibilities for taking steps to ensure the
authorization for the owners and also in built the anti
theft system to prevent the car from theft. The existing
system was, Car alarm techniques are used to prevent
the car theft with the help of different type of sensors
like pressure, tilt and shock & door sensors.Drawbacks
are cost and cant used to find out the thief� it just
prevents the vehicles from loss. The proposed security
system for smart cars used to prevent them from loss or
theft using Advanced RISC Machine (ARM)
processor. It performs the real time user authentication
(driver, who statis the car engine) using face
recognition, using the Principle Component Analysis -
Linear Discreminant Analysis (PCA LDA)
algorithm. According to the comparison result
(authentic or not), ARM processor triggers certain
actions. If the result is not authentic means ARM
produces the signal to block the car access (i.e. Produce
the interrupt signal to car engine to stop its action) and
inform the car owner about the unauthorized access via
Multimedia Message Services (MMS) with the help of
GSM modem. Also it can be extends to send the current
location of the vehicle using the GPS modem as a
ShOli Message Services (SMS) as passive method.


INTRODUCTION

Many people make the mistaken assumption that car
theft only occurs in seedy areas of town, but car theft
can occur anywhere from an urban area to a suburb.
People need to be careful not to entice thieves by
making common mistakes. Theft is one of the most
common and oldest criminal behaviours. Where the
ownership of a physical possession can be altered
without the rightful owner's consent, theft prevention
has been introduced to assert the ownership whenever
the rightful owner is physically absent. An anti-theft
system is any device or method used to prevent or deter
the unauthorized appropriation of items considered
valuable. Anti-theft systems have been around since
individuals began stealing other people's property and
have evolved accordingly to thwart increasingly
complex methods of theft. From the invention of the
first lock and key to the introduction of RFID tags and
biometric identification, anti-theft systems have
evolved to match the introduction of new inventions to
society and the resulting theft of them by others. In the
case of vehicle theft, the best deterrent to theft is in the
installation of an approved vehicle anti theft immobilizer.
There are several benefits to have a car anti theft system
installed in your vehicle. The most obvious benefit is
that it can thwart would-be thieves and prevent your car
and other belongings from being stolen. Some insurance
companies offer discounted rates for those people who
have a car anti theft system installed in their cars.
Because a car anti theft system can help to reduce the
chances that your insurance company will have to
replace or repair your vehicle, this is often rewarded
with lower rates. Motor vehicle theft is the criminal act
of stealing or attempting to steal a motor vehicle (such
as an automobile, truck, bus, coach, motorcycle).
According to NICB, National wide in 201 0, there were
an estimated l.2 million motor vehicle thefts, or
approximately 416.7 motor vehicles stolen for every
100,000 inhabitants. Property losses due to motor
vehicle theft in 2010 were estimated at $7.6 billion. The
National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) is a North
American non-profit membership organization located
in Des Plaines, Illinois. Yet the stolen rate of the auto
mobiles was not reduced. For that a new method should
be proposed that reduces the stolen rate along with the
thief catching technique. The main o�iectives of this
project are to reduce the car theft ratio as well as
introduced a method for identifying and catch the thief


GSM Moduie

A GSM module is a wireless modem that works with a
GSM wireless network. Mainly used for the ShOli
Message Service (SMS) in this project. A wireless
modem behaves like a dial-up modem. The receiver in
the GSM module is mentioned as ignition unit. A GSM
modem can be an external device or a PC Card
(specially used for laptop systems). Typically, an
external GSM modem is connected through a serial
cable or a USB cable. Like a GSM mobile phone, a
GSM modem requires a SIM card from a wireless
can'ier in order to operate.



CONCLUSION

In this paper, we propose an extendable framework, (due
to the flexibility of ARM processor), for real time
embedded system in order to provide car (vehicle)
security. Comparing with traditional car security
system, it doesn't need any sensor so that cost much
less. It is used to keep the eye on the car at all the time.
