This project was undertaken to produce some union fabrics and thus study their properties in detail and thus possibly suggest the possible end use of the same. Different properties, both aesthetic and physical properties have been studied. The properties of the fabrics have been compared with standard all nylon fabrics and also with the nylon warp and polyester weft union fabrics. Also the fabrics have been dyed and finished and the K/S values of the processed fabrics have also been studied. Since Surat is the main hub of synthetic yarn production and weaving in the country, this project is a very humble effort to produce some new fabrics and thus, study their properties in detail so that possible end uses of these fabrics can be identified.
