Abstract :

The electrical machines deals with the energy transfer either from mechanical to electrical or electrical to mechanical form. This process is called electro mechanical energy conversion. These electrical machines are designed for various applications because electrical energy is easily adaptable for all human needs and interests in an economic and efficient manner. At the same time electrical energy can be easily controlled and is pollution free at the consumer premises.
The different types involved in electrical machines is

Air Brake System

Abstract:

Air brakes are used in commercial vehicles, which require a heavier braking effort than that can be applied by the driver’s foot. The following layout shows the arrangement of the air braking systems in heavy vehicles. Compressed air from compressor passes through the unloader valve and maintains its pressure. This air is stored in the reservoir. From the reservoir it goes to the Brake Chambers through many brake valves. In the brake chamber this pneumatic force is converted into the mechanical force and then it is converted into the rotational torque by the slack adjuster, which is connected to S-cam. This torque applies air brakes. Pipelines connect the brake system components.

STRATELLITE

Abstract:-

Wireless communication is simply data communication without the use of landlines. This may involve cellular telephone, two-way radio, fixed wireless (broadband wireless), laser (freespace optics) or satellite communications. Mobile wireless technologies are going to act as glue towards bringing together the wired and wireless to share and distribute information seamlessly across each other’s areas of reference. The paper firstly introduces the wireless communications and then switches to fourth generation in wireless communications. The paper then discusses about High Altitude Airships, the “STRATELLITES” which are actually unmanned Kelvar balloons filled with helium which are used instead of towers for wireless communication, each of which replace hundreds of towers and reduce the cost of wireless communications. They also overcome the disadvantage of simple towers which could not provide proper coverage in the hilly areas.

Conclusion:-

Stratelites provide the required facilities of wireless communication more efficiently than the ordinary towers. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in ‘both directions’ using readily available wireless technology.” They minimise the cost of communication. Stratellites present a mobile, low-cost, high-capacity alternative to satellite relays and cell towers. Once the defects of Stratellites have been overcome and become more reliable, they play a vital role in the future generation wireless communication.
