In simple cloud computing is using the internet to access someone else’s software running on someone else’s software running on someone else’s hardware in someone else’s data center. However simple it may seem, the benefits it offer has changed the very dimensions of how business runs today
Cloud concepts have been around for some time but are new to PLM for most companies Cloud offerings have the potential to change the way PLM solutions are delivered and improve the ROI by reducing the investment required to achieve the benefits. Benefits that PLM domain expects through adoption of CLOUD technology which justifies the work done: •Collaborative and iterative nature of PLM processes •Need to leverage innovation within organization •Complex engineering analysis requiring complex and costly computing infrastructure but not on perennial basis

RESULTS OF EFFORT:

With the help of huge support and guidance of the elite PLM unit staff of the ENG department placed at INFOSYS MYSORE DC, we could deploy WINDCHILL 9.1 and 10.2 on the VmInstances provided by ICEH.

All the experimental and feasibility tests are running good.

FUTURE CONCERNS:

We need to now take up with moving various clients using older versions of the PLM package to the new releases and perform configuration and customization on demand
