I have done my 6 months industrial training in Bajajsons ltd. ludhiana. during my training period i worked in quality, production and new product development departments. i have also done a project on time study and assembly line balancing during training.while working in new product development department i learned development stages,Advance product Quality planing And statistical process control.
project name : Assembly LIne balancing
problems Found : 1. Assembly line was not balanced.
2. positon of machines was not according to process flow.
3.production per shift was low.
4.more manpower used.
5.more was the rejection rate.
Root causes : 1. some machines positions was very far from other.
2.some machines slidind machnism was on gears,which had very low speed power transmission.
3.fixtures of a machine was not made very good,it requires itration.
ALETRNATIVES SUGGESTED : 1. Reposoitioning of machines according to process flow.
2.operate 2 machines by one operator which have larger cycle time, to reduce manpower used.
3.make machines sliding machanism on hydraulic system.
4.do some processes like drilling and countering by other method,which consume less time.
