Recently, online social networking sites have exploded in popularity. Numerous sitesare dedicated to finding and maintaining contacts and to locating and sharing differenttypes of content. Online social networks represent a new kind of information networkthat differs significantly from existing networks like the Web. The rapid development and expansion of the Internet and the social–based services comprised by the common Web 2.0 idea provokes the creation of the new area of research interests, i.e. social networks on the Internet called also virtual or online communities. Social networks can be either maintained and presented by social networking sites like MySpace, LinkedIn, and Twitterorindirectly extracted from the data about user interaction, activities or achievements. In this research, we use social networking site facebook as primary data source. We collect different attributes such as about me, interest, activities and age from facebook as raw data and use advanced web mining techniques to build a community andprovide recommendation & advertisement facility to members of community.
