Energy is most important aspect of human life and fossil fuels cover a major part of the energy basket. Our major resources of energy are bleeding dry. Crude petroleum, coal, natural gas etc. Which happen to be our leading resources of energy are not ever lasting. World energy consumption has increased continuously for decades. Aviation industry is a big industry of petroleum derived fuel, since the industry consumer around 1.8 billion barrels of jet fuel annually across the world and emits around 2% of the total man made CO2 as well as expels bulk amount of overall Green House Gases at the upper level of the atmosphere. Bio-jet fuel emits very less CO2 and has low sulphur content. Oil from jatropha Curcas is an acceptable choice for bio-jet production because it is non-edible and can be easily grown in a harsh environment and it is very adaptable to Indian Climate.
