Abstract:

In this paper we have taken a digital TV as a VLSI system. Since the Very Large Scale Integration circuit design can deal with large number of transistors, it can be used to design very large modules.
The VLSI design technology produces integrated circuits which consumes low power. VLSI chips can be used in high performance computing, telecommunications, consumer electronics and so on.
We here by explained how the domestic analog TV can de digitalized using VLSI. This involves the conversion of each and every block of a normal TV into a disital form. This digitalization provides interference, and consumes tolerance free, flexible and more clearance, avoids electro-magnetic less power. The TV thus produced is fully automated. This TV can be implemented using various VLSI tools such as xilmx. tanner spice. Layout editors and so on.

INTRODUCTION:

The electronics industry lias achieved a phenomenal growth due to the rapid advances in integration technologies, large-scale systems design -in short, due to the advent of XT-SI.

The number of applications of integrated circuits in high-performance computing, telecommunications, and consumer electronics has been rising steadily, and at a very fast pace. The required computational power of these applications is the driving force for the fast development of this field.
Today there is a race to design interoperable video systems for basic digital computer functions, involving multimedia applications in areas such as media information, education, medicine and entertainment.

Today more than 30 million TV sets worldwide have already been equipped with this system. Today, the intensive use of VLSI chips does not need a particular justification, the main reasons being increased reliability mainly because of the long-term stability of the color reproduction brought about by digital systems, and medium and long-term cost advantages in manufacturing which are essential for ensuring international competitiveness.

Digital TV functions can be optimized for encoding and decoding a be implemented in silicon in a more dedicated way using 3 kind of automated custom design approach allowing enough flexibility*.

Evolution:

As more and more complex functions are required in various da 13 processing and telecommunication, devices, the need to integrate these functions in a small system package is also increasing.
The level of integration as measured by the number of logic gates in a monolithic chip has been steadily rising for almost three decades, mainly due to the rapid progress in processing technology and interconnect technology.
A logic block can contain anywhere from 10 to 100 transistors. <fe-p--»iH>i-» on the function State-of-the-art examples of VLSI chips, such as the DEC Alpha or the INTEL Pentium contain 3 to 6 million transistors.
