Abstracts: The project aims to control the speed and direction of DC motor with National Instrument’s LabVIEW software. Direction control is an open loop system and speed control is an closed loop system.The motor is controlled by giving signals to change the speed and direction. The Data Acquisition system is used to capture the pulses from the optical rotary encoder. Based on the pulse counts, the no. of revolutions of PMMC dc motor are obatined. To maintain the response time and accuracy of the shaft, PID controller was incorporated. The motor’s rotation was configured to linearly accelerate and decelerate based on the feedback to achieve the desired speed along with revolutions.
