Abstracts: Now a days the consumption of diesel is very high and as it is a depleting source of fuel, it is necessary to prepare a alternate fuel. Bio fuels are recently the most desirable fuel. One of the bio fuels whose use is rapidly growing is biodiesel. The economical sources for biodiesel production which doubles in the reduction of liquid waste and the subsequent burden of sewage treatment is waste fried oil (cotton seed oil) (WFO). However, the products formed during frying process, such as free fatty acid and some polymerized triglycerides, can affect the transesterification reaction and the biodiesel properties. This work is about the engine performance using WFO biodiesel and diesel blends on diesel engine. There may be increase of thermal efficiency due to use of blends. The bio-diesel is having more percentage of oxygen which will help to control HC emission. So, there may be increase the performance of the diesel engine. The calorific value of biodiesel is less than the diesel that may result in more consumption of fuel.
