Introduction to LonWorks Protocol
Abstract:
The LonWorks technology is a platform which is widely used for building industrial, transportation, home automation and public utility control networks. This technology was developed by Echelon Corporation in 1990. The basis of this technology is a Local Operating Network. This technology allows devices from different manufacturers to communicate with each other on a peer to peer basis without the need for proprietary hardware or gateways. In this seminar, an overview of the LonWorks technology is provided along with the LonTalk protocol used by the nodes in the network to communicate with each other.
