Abstracts: This Project addresses the effect of corrosion on the high cycle fatigue (HCF) strength of Mild Steel that used as in automobile. HCF tests (between 104 and 107 cycles) were carried out in two environment: (a) in air and (b) in NaCl solution (2 kg NaCl +1 kg H2O) at loading frequency of 106 Hz. We establish relationship between the corrosion fatigue strength of specimens and similar specimens tested in air.The decrease observed in the corrosion 1 fatigue strength of specimen at 106 Hz was 28% -32% that of similar specimen tested in air. The decrease observed in the corrosion 2 fatigue strength of specimen at 106 Hz was 39% - 42% that of similar specimen tested in air.
