Abstracts: Aluminum alloys are difficult to weld by conventional metal joining processes. So the project is based on the experimentation of FSW(friction stir welding) for aluminum alloys. Evaluation of the ultimate tensile strength of the welded joints produced at different operating parameters like rpm of the tool, shape of the tool will be studied in order to produce mechanically sound welds and metallurgical defects free welds.
