Abstracts: This project discussed the compound effect of abrasive-adhesive wear on shot blasting impeller blade. NESCO INDABRATOR Pvt. Ltd. is manufacturing shot blasting impeller blade by shell molding. It uses a self-made abrasive resistance high chromium material composition. Expected blade life is about 200 hr. but in recent production, blade life is reduced to 80-100 hr. in most of blades. For detecting the causes of wear, using casting stimulator software, the high Cr-casting design is evaluated. Its material composition and effect of each alloying element is discussed. Microstructure of as-cast, heat-treated, and wore-out blade is developed and analyzed in our college laboratory. Heat-treatment process is also “inspect”.
