Abstracts: Abstract: The common reason for energy inefficiencies in a boiler can be attributed to the use of excess air during combustion. When there is more air than required for combustion, the extra air becomes heated up and is finally discharged out to the atmosphere. Adjusting the fuel-air ratio for combustion can be quite tricky. If the fuel is too much as compared to the air, incomplete combustion occurs. There are many factors that may affect the efficiency of a boiler mainly which type of coal used for generating electric power. In India lignite and bituminous coal is used as a fuel in which 40% ash content in the coal. So to improve efficiency of a boiler is complicated task in India So maximum heat is used which is liberated by the combustion of coal. Different changes take place in a utilization of a heat to improve a efficiency of a boiler.
