Abstracts: The aim of this project is to design a new concept of retractable doors for cars, which has a remarkable advantage when compared to existing mechanisms. The system is mainly concerned with rails, where the doors can move freely through it. The guide ways are fixed with screws at bottom of the doors which enables the free movement of the doors. There is another part that completes the mechanism which is the base,that is fixed at the bottom of the doors with screws, making the maintenance easy and a possible change in the mechanism if the user wants.The movement of the doors can be controlled by the use of motor. This mechanism provides more safety than hinged car doors. Due to the mechanism of the retractable doors,less parking space won't be a problem.The material used in making the windows and doors of the car is such that they can bend without damage,making it easier to slide down. Before the assembly of the model, the most critical zones in the mechanism are studied.
