Abstracts: This project mainly deals with the “Migration from IPversion4 TO IPversion6”.In this fast moving world internet has become the major use. According to the latest census only 9% of IP addresses globally will remain free they have predicted that by 2012 all IPv4 addresses will be allocated .Most of the develop countries like China, USA, and Korea have shifted their Network on IPV6. Govt. of India has instructed to all ISPs to get ready for migration to IPV6 Network. So, it is the need of the hour to learn and do need full changes in existing IPV4 network for migrating to new IPV6 network. The aim and objective of this project is:- • This will be able to develop a IPv4 network and will migrate this network to IPv6 network • The devices using IPv4 address will be converted to IPv6 by software up gradation or hardware change. Plus the software DEXTER (Intrusion Prevention Systems) are network security appliances that monitor network and/or system activities for malicious activity. The main functions of intrusion prevention systems are to identify malicious activity, log information about said activity, attempt to block/stop activity, and report activity. And this will help the users to convert given IPv4 address to IPv6 address, who are unaware of the IPv6 protocol.
