Abstracts: In this era of Internet and everything being online, most of the businesses today depend on web applications to deliver their message, conduct business, interact with customers, buy/sell products, and keep their audience up to date with the happenings in their organizations, industry and world at large. Web applications are very complex since multiple tools and technologies are used to build them. Due to the highly complex and competitive nature in today’s world, one of the means businesses address the constant change in their industry environment is by frequently updating and upgrading their web applications to stay ahead of competition. More often than not, these changes ignore the security norms in place leading to massive exposure of vulnerabilities to hostile online threats. These vulnerabilities get exploited leading to defacement of websites, stealing of sensitive data, and access to classified information from critical systems which can lead to financial losses and also compromise of organization's confidential information. Thus extremely stringent measures need to be put in place to manage organization’s web application security.
