Abstracts: Sewage is generated by residential, institutional, commercial and industrial establishments. It includes household waste liquid from toilets, baths, showers, kitchens, sinks, and so forth that is disposed of via sewers. In many areas, sewage also includes liquid waste from industry and commerce. The separation and draining of household waste into grey water and black water is becoming more common in the developed world, with grey water being permitted to be used for watering plants or recycled for flushing toilets. Secondary wastewater treatment is the second stage of wastewater treatment that takes place after the primary treatment process. The process consists of removing or reducing contaminants or growths that are left in the wastewater from the primary treatment process. Usually biological treatment is used to treat waste water in this step because it is the most effective type of treatment on bacteria, or contaminant, growth. The project is based upon finding the best alternative or best available biological process in terms of highest BOD removal. The project describes efficient and cost effective method “MBBR system” over other Secondary treatment process.
