Abstracts: Pneumatic disc brake or formally a compressed pneumatic disc brake system is a type of wheel brake which slows rotation of the wheels or stop the vehicle by the compressed air pressing on piston is used to apply the pressure to the brake pad. The brake disc is usually made of cast iron, but may in some cases made of composites such as reinforced carbon, carbon or ceramic matrix composite. This is connected to the wheel or axle. To stop the wheel, friction material in the form of brake pads are mounted on vehicle called a brake caliper, is forced pneumatically against both sides of the disc. Friction causes the disc and attach wheel to slow or stop. This project represent the application of pneumatic disc brake for light transport vehicle and in commercial machine .A primary objective in pneumatic disc brake design is the estimation of braking force, design of lever and selection of pneumatic cylinders. To make a model with suitable parameter and to final whether it operate or not. Air brakes are used in heavy commercial vehicles. In Foreign countries they involve pneumatic disc brake not hydraulic because of the advantages of pneumatic in comparison with hydraulic system. So our aim of project is to make pneumatic/ air disc braking system for light automobiles.
