Abstracts: Electrical discharge machining is one of the most popular non-conventional machining processes use for creating complex shapes within the parts and assemblies in the manufacturing industries. When it is either impossible or very costly to do machining of advance materials and complex shapes by other processes, EDM provides a very popular option as far as conductive work piece material are concerned. However the technological capability of the process of has limitations such as poor surface finish and costly electrode design. To overcome some of this limitation and to enhance the surface finish of EDM process. The most commonly used electrode materials are copper. It has been observed that copper electrode allow use of higher current providing for large material removal rate. This fact cause copper electrode to be favored for rough machining. In this project, analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to investigate the effect of Two important EDM parameters those are namely: current and Pulse on time on Surface Roughness (Ra) of on Electrical Discharge Machined surface. We will find out the best combination of parameter for better surface finishing of mild steel and all conclusions will be based upon the results of the experimental data.
