Abstracts: In the present project as IDP, we are doing FAILURE ANALYSIS OF THE VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP as its components are facing problems in design and during the performance. In order to reduce weight and stress developed in various parts like impeller, shafts and bearing, we will do numerical stress analysis by using different concepts like thin shell theory, FEM (mesh element and mesh type), optimization techniques and also modify pump design with the help of CREO and ANSYS software at suitable operating condition
