Abstracts: Our project revolves around a growing menace in the city of Vadodara traffic. With a taffic population of over 166,000 using a total road length of 2080km frequency of traffic congestion in the city have increased drastically in the last few years. To counter this issue we conducted traffic volume studies at different locations in the city, determining the number of passing vehicles and classifying them. The study was conducted at four intersection of the city at the peak hours with a suitable sampling period. These locations (Kothi Char Rasta, Vrundavan, Dandia Bazaar and Harinagar) are representative of the traffic distribution in Vadodara. In the second phase we have analysed the data obtained from the above mentioned traffic volume surveys and suggested the suitable and feasible solutions to reduce traffic congestion in the city. We have also conducted parking surveys on a couple of stretches of the city. The concept of Transportation systems management (TSM) is also mentioned.
