The object of my study was to improve the existing joining/repairing techniques of the non metallic pipes used at RIL-NMD. The non metals used are CPVC, HDPE, PP, FRP and MSRL.Solvent Cementing technique was primarily used for joining of CPVC pipes. Hot plate welding used for HDPE pipes was found to be unsatisfactory.A new material XR-5 was suggested in place of HDPE pipes.Also,methods were suggested to regulate the pressure during hot fusion welding.
