In peritectic grades steel, during solidification delta ferrite to gamma austenite phase transformation takes place and because of that a large volume contraction takes place. it result in non uniform shell formation that causes non uniform heat transfer to the mold, because of that, in peritectic grade steel, casting speed is always kept slow. Ideally we can cast at some maximum speed, but because of some problems we have to cast at slow speed. In this study I have tried to find out these problems and reduce them.
