Set up a vertical Kanthal element three zone furnace and calculated the parameters for unseeded vertical Bridgeman growth of Germanium crystal in it. Grew the same in the (311) direction. Characterized the crystal obtained using FTIR and X-ray instrumentation and found it fit for optical and infrared applications.
