Abstracts: As the world move to the accomplishment of the performance based engineering philosophy in seismic design of civil engineering structures, new seismic design provision require structure engineering perform both static and dynamic analysis for the design of structures. While linear equivalent dynamic analysis is performed for regular buildings in zone III. In present study, multi-storey regular building with G+9 and G+14 stories have been modelled using software ETABS for seismic zone III in India. This report also deals with the effect of the variation of the building height on the structural response of shear wall building. Buildings are analysed by static seismic coefficient method and dynamic response spectrum analysis method with and without considering stiffness of infill walls. For buildings required to resist earthquake loads, this economical structural solution is relevant. To understand the response of the building under earthquake, static seismic coefficient method and dynamic response spectrum method is used, and the response of the structure in terms of time period, frequency, Storey drift, Storey displacement, story shear, Storey stiffness, is compared for all type of models.
