Abstracts: A suspension system is a mechanical device designed to smooth out or damp shock impulse, and dissipate kinetic energy. The project relates to suspension system which comprises a magnetic unit used as a shock absorber or load leveller for a vehicle and having a group of permanent magnets arranged in a side-by-side chain formation. So, when the vehicle body has been applied jerk it is observed that the like poles of magnets of the same properties and strength repulse each other and they keep a constant distance between each other because of their magnetic fields. And by thus, suspension system absorbs the shock experienced on the body due to sudden jerk. This leads us to the core principle of Permanent Magnetic Suspension System, which is as “The repulsive force of magnet is used to absorb the shock on the moving body.” In our innovation about this project we are using permanent magnets in place of other conventional shock absorbing materials like spring, oil, gas which will result in improvement of the final performance of suspension system as well as the suspension system will require comparatively less maintenance.
