Abstracts: This investigation is concern with the design and performance of solar air heater in which single flow double pass air flows from vented cover through a porous absorber plate. The design phase involved design of absorber and transparent plate. The design is expected to be useful to designers of solar collectors. Efficiency of solar air heater will be increasing by using of porous medium and increase a mass flow rate of air by optimum design of it. Porous medium provided large area for the heat transfer and therefore have high heat transfer co-efficient. There use as absorbers enhances heat transfer from the absorber to the air steam. For further improvement like increase area of absorber plate by means of sine wave plate. Main advantages of it, is reduced the pollution. So we have to focus on using a non convention fuel instead of convention fuel and reduced the harmful effect on human. Further advantages of solar air heater are free from corrosion and freezing problems and less operating cost. Besides solar air heater considered to be compact and less complicated as compare to solar water heater. Solar air heater can be fabricated using cheaper as well as lesser amount material and simpler to use than solar water heater. Solar air heater are widely used for low moderate temperature applications like space heating, crop drying, timber seasoning and other industrial application.
