Abstracts: After the experience gain from the recent Earthquake of India, especially Bhuj (2001), Engineers got to know that how inefficient were the buildings of India. Those buildings which appeared to be strong, also crumbled due to affects produced by earthquake like lateral movement of buildings, ductility of building and shear forces on the building. Due to wrong construction practices and ignorance for earthquake resistant design of building in our country, most of the existing buildings are vulnerable to the future earthquakes. In light of these facts, it is imperative to seismically analyse and design the building to avoid the major destruction in future earthquakes. In this project, we have analysed multi-storied building using Seismic Co-efficient Method as per IS 1893(part-1) – 2002. We have calculated lateral force at different floors and base shear of the building.
