Abstracts: In modern times there is a lack of conventional sources. So we are making a study model of Savonius type wind-mill which is a non-conventional type. Mostly horizontal type wind-mill is made, but we are making a vertical type wind-mill. Bearings are subjected on a fix rod. Around bearings a shaft is there, on which impeller are attached. The measurement of the wind velocity acting on the wind turbine is important for the development of wind turbine technology. When wind blows the impeller rotates on the shaft, with which a dc motor is attached. Motor will work as Generator by reversing its principle. It will convert mechanical energy of shaft into electrical energy. If possible we want to make optimum design of Savonius wind rotor. So that we can get maximum possible power output a low and moderated wind speed. We also want to make Savonius wind rotor at low cost.
