Abstracts: The demand for electrical power generally is increased at a faster rate in economically emerging countries. The networks of electricity companies become very complicated. A power system network consists of number of equipments which are very necessarial and essential to operate. For this purpose many electrical and mechanical types of equipment are used. The cable reeling drum is specialized application for power transmission and it serves winding and unwinding of the cable automatically while the drum body provide the required storage volume. In industry basically two kinds of CRD used are monospiral and parallel. We are going to make a model using various tools like fuzzy logic, mat lab, Creo etc. to identify and predict the behavior of cable reeling drum for various sizes of cables.
It is sometimes very important to establish the relationship between various performance and control parameters. Today many modeling techniques are available to establish the relationship between performance parameters and control parameters for material handling equipment. Application of fuzzy logic Technique provide a time-saving, non-functional, free-form approach to capture the effect of control parameters such as Cable Length, Cable Diameter, Scroll Velocity, etc. in performance parameters such as Internal Diameter drum, number of pinion teeth, RPM etc. for the drum drum of the cable. The result of the Fuzzy model is also compared with the Mathematical Model, which is developed using the data adjustment software. There are three membership functions used for both input and output parameters in the MATLAB mamdani type fuzzy inference engine.
