Abstracts: This Project report is for the partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree in Civil Engineering at Government Engineering College, Godhra. I am greatly thankful to the faculty and management of Government Engineering College, Godhra for providing me such an opportunity to present this report thereby giving a chance to get practical exposure to Civil Engineering Works. This project report represents comprehensive information about rain water harvesting along with some data collections carried out for the project. The method of rain water harvesting has been into practice since ancient times. It is as far the best possible way to conserve water and awaken the society towards the importance of water. The method is simple and cost effective too. It is especially beneficial in the areas, which faces the scarcity of water. This report explains the various methods of rain water harvesting system with various examples and also the components of it in detail. A practical case for a building of Government Engineering College, Godhra has been considered and rain water harvesting system has been designed for the same along with the estimation of this project cost. The necessary conclusions and recommendations have also been derived and explained in the project report.
