Abstracts: Increasing urbanization is the key to economic growth of any nation. In India, since few decades, there has been observed a rapid urbanization. With pace of urbanization, it is pertinent to provide equal importance to overall development of all sectors. The increasing pressure of urbanization through traffic is directly affecting the quality of life of people living in urban areas. With involvement in some or the other economic activity, everybody uses facilities of transportation by varying degree of extent. The project encompasses study of organically urbanized areas of Surat city wherein the traffic congestion resulting in unnecessary energy consumption is the prompt and alarming issue. The study will be done by employing photo-graphic surveys and proposals based on analysis shall be suggested as a part of urban renewal of Surat city areas especially for east zone.
